New York State recently published its vital statistics to reveal falling abortion ratios. An abortion ratio is the number of abortions to live births. For example, in New York City it cost the black community 99 abortions in order to have 100 babies. In Manhattan that cost is 131 abortions per 100 babies born.
In 2016, statewide there were 35 abortions for every 100 lives births, down from 2008 when it cost 47 abortions for every 100 babies born.
The costs are even more telling when viewed through the lens of ethnicity. For every 100 babies born to white women it costs 17 abortions, for Hispanic it costs 37, and for black it costs 85 abortions per 100 babies born. This real abortion news update is sponsored by CompassCare.
