A New York bill targeting pro-life pregnancy centers for investigation passed the health committee with a vote strictly along party lines, Democrats voting for and Republicans voting against. Pregnancy centers are small non-profits providing women facing unplanned pregnancy with the resources she needs for her and her baby to thrive. These organizations are all privately funded and run mostly by volunteers. Despite there being no formal complaints or accusations of wrong-doing lodged against these organizations, they have drawn the condescending gaze of pro-abortion Democrats. Why? The goal of the bill is to have the investigative body, “[establish] specific recommendations…to address any…negative impact in the state identified through the study.” Now that New York has done all it can to decriminalize the violence of abortion they seem to be setting the stage to criminalize peaceful pro-life work.
