Many thought the sudden closure of a Planned Parenthood office in Rochester was a sign of a consolidation. However, local residents are upset to learn the abortion giant was simply preparing to expand facilities with a new office in Brighton. According to Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York’s website, this move is part of a larger strategy to meet expected demand from women traveling to New York for their abortions. The Planned Parenthood location in Buffalo is also actively preparing to relocate for this reason. Planned Parenthood’s website states, “With…the possibility of increased restrictions on abortion access and family planning in neighboring states like Pennsylvania and Ohio, it is likely that we will see a large increase in patient volume in Buffalo. We have been working to ensure we are able to accommodate the potential surge.”
