On Sunday, January 22, the anniversary of Roe v Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court ruling legalizing abortion, President Joe Biden signed a Presidential Memorandum directing the Department of Justice, Attorney General, and the Secretary Department of Homeland Security to do two things: 1) protect the distribution of dangerous chemical abortion drugs and 2) attack pro-life people, by saying, “…consider new actions to ensure that patients can access…medication abortion…free from threats or violence.” Memoranda carry the force of law regarding the actions of departments under the purview of the President. This Memorandum builds upon Biden’s July 8th Executive Order directing Attorney General Garland to investigate the so-called “fraudulent practices” of pro-life pregnancy centers, prompting the Department of Justice to create the Reproductive Rights Task Force on July 12, 2022.
The Memorandum promotes a false narrative that pro-life people are committing violence against abortionists while ignoring the vast left-wing war being waged against them. Of the 186 attacks on pro-life entities, no arrests have been made nor have there been any sanctions on pro-abortion politicians fomenting the violence nor on big tech for actively censoring pro-life pregnancy centers.
Rev. Jim Harden, medical ethicist and CEO of the national, 650-affiliate pro-life medical network, CompassCare, has identified and tracked the pro-abortion strategy to remove Fourteenth Amendment equal protections of pro-life people and organizations and criminalize pro-life expression as the House Judiciary Committee points out with the FBI’s abdication of their duty to investigate violence against pro-life people while attacking them with trumped-up FACE act indictments. Biden’s Memorandum operates on the false premise that criminal behavior is emanating from pro-life people, attempting to paint pro-life people as violent, justifying and fomenting censorship, political attacks, and violence against them. The Biden Administration, at the expense of states’ rights and the integrity of law enforcement, is ignoring the fact that domestic terrorism is being perpetrated on pro-life people and organizations while continuing to weaponize federal law enforcement against the victims of pro-abortion arson, vandalism, and death threats.
Further, Biden’s Memorandum attempts to contravene the intent of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs ruling, sending the abortion debate back to the states to determine for themselves. The Memorandum directly conflicts with the Attorneys General of nearly half of the States. Vice President Kamala Harris, announcing the Memorandum in an effort to attack FL Governor DeSantis, continuing to exploit a 10-year-old girl who was raped by her mother’s boyfriend—which was allegedly covered up according to Fox News—reprimanded those same 22 states, particularly FL, for protecting women and girls from similar sex crime cover-ups under state law saying, “…today, we are fighting back.” She reiterated the Administration’s desire to centralize power to the Federal government for the biased oversight of chemical abortion.
Rev. Harden warns that after the creation of Biden’s Task Force on Reproductive Health Care, the DOJ through the FBI began raiding the homes of peaceful pro-life people, indicting even more on fabricated FACE Act charges. Rev. Harden says, “The Biden Administration has been on a character assassination campaign against pro-life people since at least July of 2022. Leading up to the Mid-Terms, they overplayed their hand, drawing the attention of U.S. Senators such as Ted Cruz and hosts of U.S. Congressmen, sparking an investigation by the House Judiciary Committee. However, with the 2024 Presidential Elections looming, the Administration’s actions on January 22 indicate that their intent to continue making abortion their primary election plank by denying pro-lifers equal protection under the law while vilifying them to garner public support will expand.”
