On May 2, President Trump announced new regulations protecting the conscience of pro-life doctors and nurses. The goal is to strengthen and enforce the existing conscience protections for all providers and organizations receiving federal monies overseen through the Depart of Health and Human Services.
Over the last several years much confusion has arisen due to Obamacare regulations and related Supreme Court challenges as to expectation that medical providers use their skill to kill instead of heal through abortion, abortion referrals, abortion-causing contraception and the like. Why do States like New York disagree?
Why should a nation built with a constitutional framework, the foundation of which is the freedom of religion, exempt medical professionals from living out what they believe through their life’s work. If politicians can do it, why wouldn’t medical professionals be able to as well?
